The Sorrow

The Sorrow is an Austrian metalcore band from Vorarlberg. The group was formed in 2005. Mathias "Mätze" Schlegel and Andreas "Andi" Mäser play in the Disconnected band while Dominik "Dewey" Immler and Tobias "Tobi" Schedler are in the punk hardcore band Distance. Dominik joins Disconnected and Tobi replaces the bass player. The group then changes its name. In 2006, The Sorrow signed a contract with Drakkar Entertainment. On July 27, 2007, his first album Blessings from a Blackened Sky was released. A few days later, the group participates in the Wacken Open Air. In the fall, he went on a European tour with DevilDriver. In February 2008, he was the headliner of the tour with Misery Speaks and Grantig. The following month, he travelled all over Europe with Chimaira. On June 13, 2008, the band was the first to play at the Nova Rock Festival. On February 27, 2009, the second album Origin of the Storm was released. The band wins the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the "Hard&Heavy" category.
