Manolo sanlucar

Manolo Sanlúcar , by his real name Manuel Muñoz Alcón , is a Spanish maestro of the flamenco guitar, born in Sanlúcar de Barrameda in the province of Cádiz (Andalusia, Spain) on November 24, 1943.

His father, Isidro Sanlúcar, a great flamenco guitarist, taught him flamenco guitar in the style of Javier Molina. He collaborated with guitar master Paco de Lucía for several recordings. Like this one, it appears in several of the films that Carlos Saura dedicated to Flamenco. He also trained great guitarists like Vicente Amigo or Kiko Ruiz, to whom he proposed to join his band when he was 14 years old.

His last album released in 2007 is entitled Medea. He recorded 12 albums in total.

In 2014, he received the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, awarded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.
