Mxpx

MxPx is an American punk rock band from Bremerton, Washington. The band consists of singer and bassist Mike Herrera, drummer Yuri Ruley and guitarist Andy. When it was formed in 1992, the group is called Magnified Plaid while the members are all in high school. Andy is quickly replaced by Tom Wisniewski and even before being old enough to drive a car, the trio already has several 7-inch singles to his credit as well as a first album, Pokinatcha, launched on the label Tooth & Nail Records.

The disc quickly became the best-selling label and led to the release of a second album Teenage Politics. Popular with skateboarders and surfers, the group also enjoys an enviable reputation in the underground scene. However, it was with Life in General, published in 1996, that the group emerged from the shadows. The success of Life in General allows him to sign a contract with A & M which launches, in 1998, Slowly Going the Way of the Buffalo which is followed, the following year by At the Show. In 2000, MxPx offers The Ever Passing Moment. To celebrate its ten years of existence, the group launched the album Ten Years and Running compilation in 2002. In autumn 2003, MxPx is back with Before Everything and After. Then in 2006, the trio continues success with his new opus Panic

MxPx launched in July 1992 under the name of Magnified Plaid. Initially, the band plays music inspired by bands such as the Descendents, Black Flag and other punk rock bands. Mike Herrera, Yuri Ruley, and Andy Husted were comrades at Central Kitsap High School in Silverdale, Washington, and were 15 when they formed the group. The name pays tribute to the fascination of their first guitarist for the plaids, but does not do well on the group's posters. The name is abbreviated to M.P>.

MxPx catches the attention of Tooth & Nail Records during a 1993 concert in Herrera's parents' garden. The band's first album, Major Pokinatcha (1994), is released while the members are still in high school. The album, though categorized as Christian punk, includes hardcore punk elements and also includes skateboarding / surf punk and underground punk elements. The songs are characterized by their aggressive punk sound, catchy rhythms and a three-string punk guitar style >>>.
