The Exploited

The Exploited is a British punk rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland. Since the late 1980s, the group incorporates elements of thrash metal to his music.

The brutality and speed of the songs make this band one of the influences of the thrash movement, inspiring Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, among others. The Exploited is inspired by 1970's punk sex punk.

In the early 1980s, The Exploited became one of the reference groups of punk. In 1981, the band released their first album Punk's Not Dead, which climbed to 20> place of the charts in the United Kingdom>. Some important anthems appear on this LP. For example: Cops Car, I Believe in Anarchy, and the very famous Sex and Violence which will be very frequently taken in chorus by the public during their concerts. The single Dogs of War, reached the 63> place of national rankings >>>>>.

In 1982, Troops of Tomorrow came out with an apocalyptic coverage. The pieces are short but effective. Nervous riffs, urgent rhythms, acidic criticisms of political institutions. The song that gives its title to the album is a cover of The Vibrators. The following year, in 1983, the group recurred with Let's Start a War ... (Said Maggie One Day). Thatcher and his political and military initiatives are specifically targeted. It is after this album that Big John, guitarist whose name is not surfait, leaves the group. He states that he "was tired of being exploited ..." But the gang is not so easily discouraged and resumes the road as well as the hostilities. Horror Epics is released in 1985. There is an electronic drums on the album, which is rather strange for a band called Punk. Apart from this slight detail, the compositions remain quite in the style of the previous discs. It should be noted that it is from this album that Wattie's little brother, Willie Buchan, sits behind the barrels to take a final and well-appreciated place.
