Trapt

Trapt is an American nude metal band from Los Gatos, California.

Trapt members meet in high school in the mid-1990s and soon develop a band with Chris Taylor Brown (vocals), Simon Ormandy (guitar), Peter "Pete" Charell (bass), and David Stege (drums). The first few rehearsals take place at Ormandy>. They start playing locally in 1997 before everyone leaves high school. The group is positively welcomed while it becomes popular. In 1998, they opened already in concert for Papa Roach >>>.

They recorded and released their first album, Amalgamation in 1999, which they sell to their shows. Their second musical project, EP "Glimpse" , is published in 2000, and another EP, the homonymous Trapt . Between the strength of these albums and the success of the tours, they manage to attract the interest of the labels. Trapt's first independent album, Amalgamation , was released in June 1999, and sold in Los Gatos, California. The album is a local success, and sold 900 copies in late 1999.

The band signs to the Warner Bros. label. Records>, and starts recording his first album, with Robin Diaz replacing Stege on drums. On November 5, 2002, the band released their self-titled album, "Trapt", which included three singles. In 2002, Headstrong , the first single, reached the top spot of the Modern Rock Tracks and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks, and the 16> place Billboard Hot 100, their best in date. The second single of the album, Still Frame, also arrives at the first place of the US Mainstream Rock, and the fifth place of the Modern Rock Tracks. The third single, Echo, reaches the 10th place of Modern Rock Tracks. The album Trapt is certified platinum by the RIAA.
