The Verve

The Verve is a British rock band from Wigan, England. He was formed in 1989 by singer Richard Ashcroft, guitarist Nick McCabe, bassist Simon Jones and drummer Peter Salisbury.

Long regarded as one of the most innovative and captivating bands on the British contemporary pop scene (also known as britpop), The Verve finally came to the fore in 1997 with Grammy-nominated tube Bitter Sweet Symphony in the category of best rock song> >>>>. In addition to this dazzling success, the rise of the group is actually the culmination of a long maturation that began at the dawn of the 1990s and whose progress was disrupted by a separation, multiple lawsuits, and a significant consumption narcotics.

Attached to the psychedelic aesthetics of the 1960s, the group will live however as a brake to its commercial recognition, despite critics always approving. Their first two albums, A Storm in Heaven and A Northern Soul leave them in relative anonymity before the huge success of their third album, Urban Hymns.

In the spring of 2007, without any contract with any label, the band reformed itself in its original composition and began the recording of a new album at the end of June. A mini-tour is announced in early November in Glasgow, Blackpool and London. The album Forth comes out a few months later, confirming a return of the band. A new album is announced for 2010. However, at the end of 2009, the band separates again, putting an end to this project.
