Vlatko stefanovski

Vladimir "Vlatko" Stefanovski , born in 1957 in Prilep, is a Macedonian guitarist of ethno-rock jazz fusion.

Stefanovski is one of the founders of the group Leb i Sol with which he recorded 14 albums between 1978 and 1991 and with which he was recognized on the rock scene of the former Yugoslavia. The first albums of the group develop an ethno-rock style characterized by a fusion of classical rock and roll and folk elements from Macedonia. His current activity is shared between his new group VS Trio, his essentially acoustic collaboration with Miroslav Tadić and the composition of film or theatrical. He also recently collaborated with Jan Akkermann in the blues register.

He is the brother of playwright Goran Stefanovski.

The influence of ethnic and folk music from South East Europe and more specifically from Macedonian music is recognizable in its use of metrics (5 / 4.7 / 8) and unusual scales.
