Whitecross

Whitecross is an American Christian metal band from Waukegan, Illinois. He is trained by Scott Wenzel (vocals) and Rex Carroll (guitar).

Having founded the band in 1986, they made their first album in 1987, entitled "Whitecross" . Thanks to Rex Carroll's poignant lyrics and revolutionary technical guitar solos, Whitecross is quickly compared to bands like Stryper or Ratt. In 1992, Rex Carroll left the group, wanting to embark on other projects, such as the King James group. The band continues without him and makes five albums in his absence. These albums contain much more influences on the acid rock style (for the musical style only, and not for the influence), whereas the precedents were very hard rock.

Whitecross wins three Dove Awards for Triumphant Return (in 1990) and In the Kingdom (in 1992) in the category "metal album of the year" and for Come to the Light from the album Unveiled in the category of "hard song of the year " at the 25th> GMA Dove Awards in 1994>.

In 2005, Rex Carroll returns and the group goes back to the sources with the album Nineteen Eighty Seven, which is a cover of the album Whitecross with some new titles >>>>>. In February 2007, they are announced and confirmed at the Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Illinois on Friday, June 29, 2007>. On April 5, 2008, they play at the Legends of Rock festival in Ennepetal, Germany.
