Winger

Winger is an American heavy metal band from New York. It won a great commercial success in 1988 until the explosion of the grunge wave in 1991. The group was originally called Sahara but was renamed emergency Winger just days before the release of the first album, the name Sahara being a trademark registered by another group.

Ranked in the glam metal category that swept the United States in the late 1980s. After splitting in 1993, the group reformed in 2006.

The band's first album, Winger , was released on August 10, 1988 at Atlantic Records. The album is a hit, and is certified platinum in the United States, and gold record in Japan and Canada. On February 11, 1989, the album reached 21> place of Billboard 200>, and in other rankings for 63 weeks>. It includes singles Madalaine , Seventeen , Headed for a Heartbreak and Hungry . In 1990, the band was nominated for an American Music Award in the Best Heavy Metal Band category.

Winger releases his second album with a 13-month tour, playing 230 dates with Kiss, Scorpions, ZZ Top, Extreme and Slaughter. Paul Taylor leaves the band after years of touring fatigue. The third album studio album, Pull , produced by Mike Shipley, was recorded between 1992 and 1993 as a trio. It was originally supposed to be titled Blind Revolution Mad , according to the opening song. After his separation in 1994, bassist and singer Kip Winger dedicated himself to a solo career, the guitarist Reb Beach toured with Dokken, Alice Cooper and is a member of Whitesnake since 2002. The other members will be session musicians.
