Divididos

Divididos is an Argentinian rock band from Hurlingham, Buenos Aires. He is a member of the musical movement called Argentine rock >>>. Its current members are: Ricardo Mollo (guitar and vocals), Diego Arnedo (bass) and Catriel Ciaverella (drums) >>>.

Divididos was formed in 1988 by members of the Sumo group, following its dissolution after the death of its leader Luca Prodan in December 1987. The band is nicknamed La Aplanadora del rock and is known for its mix of rock, music Argentine folklore, and complex words >>>. The band starts with their first album, 40 dibujos ahí in el piso, well received by the specialized press, which looks like the British new wave in Sumo. However, soon after, the group became even more popular with the release in 1991 of a different kind of album, entitled Acariciando lo áspero. The band's notoriety will crystallize even more in 1993 with the politically focused album La era de la boludez>, and in 1995 with the psychedelic and experimental album Otroletravaladna.

Divididos is awarded in the best 2000 song category for Spaghetti del Rock and the best 2000 album for Narigón del siglo, both of which are selected by readers of Rolling Stone Argentina magazine. In 2005, they were rewarded with a Konex Award in platinum for the rock band of the 1995-2005 decade, a distinction shared with Patricio Rey and Redonditos de Ricota.

The band will also play Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Child (Slight Return) and The Doors' Light My Fire.
