Dropkick Murphys is a group of American Celtic punk, originally from Quincy, adjacent to South Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in 1996, the band mixes influences from traditional Irish music, hardcore punk, oi! and folk rock.

In his early days, the band included Mike McColgan (vocals) Ken Casey (bass, vocals), Rick Barton (guitar, vocals) and Matt Kelly (drums).
