Ebi

Ebrahim Hamedi (born June 19, 1949 in Tehran), better known by his stage name Ebi , is an Iranian singer.

Ebi was born in Tehran. He is the eldest of 4 sisters and a brother. He began his career with a group called the "Sun Boys" who made some successful public appearances. He then continued his solo career with a song called "Attash", composed for a movie that bore this title. This is his third solo song, "Shab" (Night) that makes him really known. In the mid-1970s, he was spotted and trained by Mary Yeghyazarian, who at the time was involved in the discovery of young talents and development at the Ministry of Art and Culture.

As his fame grows, Ebi meets Shahram and Shahbal Shabpareh, pioneers of Iranian pop music. Ebi and former members of the Sun Boys join them and together they form the Black Cats, who were already playing at the Kochini club, which was one of Tehran's most famous nightclubs before 1979. Despite the success of the band, Ebi separates so to continue his solo career.

He later released four albums: Tapesh, Nāzi Nāz Kon, Shab Zade and Gol-e Yakh.
