Flying colors

Flying Colors is a super progressive american rock band. It consists of Mike Portnoy, Dave LaRue, Casey McPherson, Neal Morse and Steve Morse on an idea from Bill Evans, and active since 2012.

In 2008, Evans decides to form a group accessible to all public>. His idea was to use the complexity of the pop singer, leave the short pieces, and use humor >>>>>.

Evans meets Neal Morse (solo artist, Spock's Beard, Transatlantic), Dave LaRue (Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse Band, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai), Steve Morse (Steve Morse Band, Dixie Dregs, Deep Purple, Kansas), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Transatlantic), and producer Peter Collins (RUSH, Bon Jovi) to form a group>.

Evans fails to find a singer and songwriter to his expectations, among more than 100 candidates. Mike Portnoy suggests Casey McPherson> who, at that time, had signed with Hollywood Records (Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Jesse McCartney). McPherson's group, Alpha Rev, will release the album New Morning which will spend 17 weeks at the Billboard Top-10>. Unlike most Hollywood Records artists, Casey writes and plays multiple instruments on his albums.
