thanks! And yes, there are lyrics for it, just haven't recorded the vocals yet ;) They sound pretty much like the vocal track in the tab, with a few variations

Another song from mister Shade.

I'd have to say my single biggest problem with this song is that, although I get the feeling the music is trying to really bring me to a calm, relaxed, pensive state, there often seems to be too much going on at once for me to really relax my mind and just enjoy the beauty of it. It's like a bright sunny day where the sun is just too bright for you to appreciate it.

That being said, my favorite parts are the intro and the interlude, the simplest, least busy parts of the song.

I think that if all the melodies were trying to complement the main idea instead of go off and do their own thing, it would sound much more focused, and give the listener something to grasp onto.

*Alright I just listened to this song again with the RSE activated, and without vocals, and the song now sounds 10 times better... honestly the vocal line you wrote detract greatly from the song in my opinion*

Unfortunately without the vocal line this song would get 4.5 from me, but since the song is written with the vocals it gets 3.5 because it becomes much less focused, and just strains my ears greatly. It might be just me... but I would suggest reworking that vocal line.

On a side note, I would say that out of every composer I have listened to on this site, your music has the highest commercial appeal, and I do hope you get yourself some recognition outside of tablature in the future =).

Great song! Very calm and emotional, with a nice feeling all the way through (it's like you had sea waves playing in the background, although there weren't any!). Best points for me are the clean guitar chords and delay effect (I really am a sucker for delay effect!).

The only downside is the vocals. I don't know if it is the oboe or the fact of having two lead instruments playing at the same time, but it doesn't sound too good (like JazzDeath said, a bit too busy). I bet it sounds better with an actual person singing, though. Great job!

I'd just like to try defending the vocals a little; I believe it sounds unfocused because the lead guitar and oboe sounds too similar with MIDI.. with a real voice it will sound alot more distinguished than what I can make out of a MIDI tab, and I also noticed that, unfortunately, I've mixed the lead guitar a bit too loud compared to what it will be in the real song. I transported it from RSE to MIDI a bit fast hehe

Anyways, thanks for the nice feeback :)

the entry of the vocals was maybe too abrupt. and at the beggining the vocals sounded a bit random
anyways, I started to like the song
yeah, it's a very good song... easy, fluent, what else do you really need for a good song
it's like every part is like what it should be

EXCEPT THE INTERLUDE
that's the minus
it doesn't sounds pleasant to hear like everthing else
it also cuts the whole theme, it's like "hey, I was listening to that!... wait a minute, it's the same song : / "

anyhow, so far this has been my favourite ;)
no overreact, there are only 3 entries so far

anyhow, good luck with the ratings

Nice tune, I just have a few small problems with it.

Personally, I found two instruments doing delay a little bit much, mainly in the Chorus. It starts to sound a bit too busy for my liking there. Leading on from that point, I reckon that the vocal line clashes a few times with the lead guitar work - try listening to the Chorus with just the oboe, lead guitar and two delays.

Apart from that, its very well put together, and my favorite part is definately the clean part of the Interlude. Very brooding there.

4 stars.

Excelent use of the delay, your leads are great man with a lot of feeling, I liked the smooth sound and the heavier parts. Your song reminds me a little of Seether, don't know if you've listened to them at all but they play a bunch of hard-smooth rock songs.
The only problem with this song is that sometimes is hard to recognize the vocals, but anyway that's not a big deal at all.
I don't have more words to say, every part in your song is so... correct, the right notes in the right places. The Interlude is awesome, simple, straight to the point. Every part in your song makes sense, the only thing I'm not very sure about is the outro, I think is a little short, besides that everything is fine.

Rate: I'll give you 4.0 stars which is very good, great song but not astonishing, I think there's a lack of, mmmm, innovation.

Fantastic use of jazz guitar with let ring, it sounds amazing at the start. Maybe

a second vocal track may be a good idea to make it more correct for the

backing vocals. The song sounds great though simple very, very effective.

The lead guitar is very cool, the only thing is the delay doesn't work in a way in

the chorus even though you mixed it well you can't really hear how it goes.

The bass sounds fantastic. I think it needs a solo somewhere in the interlude

as it's missing that really. Overall its an excellent song and even though i'm

critisising, i'm only saying what can be improved on the song and not what's

wrong with it.

5 stars :)

This is definitely a great calming song. The clean intro is cleverly done and I love the chorus melody, it's strong and calming at the same time a very good mix. The vocals did try to compete with the guitars, but I’m sure an actual voice would sound better.

There were times when the delay effects would become a bit too interfering with the song, but it was only for a few bars at a time. During the interlude, I thought that the lead guitar was a little too loud, causing the clean guitar to be muted a bit. The outro was also cleverly done and was a great finish to the song.

I did listen to this song with RSE on and it is probably one of the best songs I’ve listened to with RSE. The chorus was greatly enhanced by the RSE.

4/5*

Very good. It all worked well together. Some great progressions. This had the "mark of Shade" if you know what I mean. You often have songs with great melodies, minor 9th chords, good guitar tracks, especially acoustic, and good rhythm. Nice job. I started jamming and was playing a simple acoustic solo over the top. I really liked this. I felt this could be a hit for you.

Very nice song. The delay effect with the additional tracks increases the impact of the melody which is by itself quite good.
I would have given more volume to the lead guitar, being a little higher than the rhythm one. As in other cases, I missed a solo.
Although the pace of the song is not fast is quite entertaining to listen for me.

Simple + powerful + great atmosphere = Excelent job! Simplicity is a double-edged sword. But you managed to create a great song without using fancy solos, or intricate drum parts, or completely new chord progressions... I dont have a favorite part in this song, cause it really flows as a whole.
I cant say nothing more...

Very powerful I liked it. My only real complaint is that vocals came in a little strong imo. Other than that everything sounded great. Everything was together and it mixed well. You had nice verses and choruses. The transitions were smooth and didn't stick out. I liked how the it stayed full and powerful the entire time. Nicely done.
