Yeee, bring it on!

Well, what to say. Not an extremely complex song but it does the trick very well, has a great, nu-metal, "aggro-rock" kind of feel as you stated you went for, but as always those little splashes of rhodes piano scream out Rumpyyy!

My favorite parts were definitely from bar 9 up to the end of the main riff, the pre chorus and later variations of such, bar 103/104 of your solo (epic win) and bar 114 to the end.

And basically, well... the rest of the riffing is much too repetitive when it comes to powerchords, I know it's the style of music but really, it comes off as tired near the end, there's just not enough variation through the rest of the riffs to keep you really interested.

The other point is, well, the interlude, seems to basically break the feeling of the song and not really bring it back in force, one standing characteristic of aggro rock is that often enough the interludes create a lot of buildup tension and let off a release at the end, bringing back the song full force, this interlude didn't really achieve that and kind of broke momentum.

Overall it's not bad, it's just not that wonderful, either. It lacks color and variation, and the riffs just seem to lack a lot of punch.

3 stars.

Oh my god, I am pretty sure I would hate this song if I would ever hear it recorded :D
Non the less, I think your riffing is pretty unique and innovative. That´s a plus for sure. Also the rhodes are used fantastically. And yes, then the stuff starts where the fictive metalcore bull starts growling in the mike...
But instrumenatlly okay :)
The song has a coherent flow and you managed it well to connect the parts.
Interlude is good. Like the solo a lot.
Presolo and Solo are simply great. I love ´em.

After all I think it´s a good song for it´s kind. A fitting length. Ugly and dissonant riffs (not in a negative way). Yes it´s well written. Good job

his is not the style of music that i´m used to hear or like, So i´ll try to be objective. Bass line (specially slap) and Drums are amazing, lead guitar not so much. The way you used the keyboard is awesome, gives some great ambience. The Prechorus is stunning, how the Rhodes and the Guitar fit together like in a musical-paradox. Outro is also one of the strongest part of the song, one of my favorites.
Everything else in the song isn´t bad, but isn´t as good as the things that I have mentioned. In Summary, i´ll say that your song has several great moments, and your way of composing is very orginal, putting a lot of attention on little details. Mixing is also good.
I´ll give 4 stars to this song despite i´m not into that type of music (if it exists), But for me "Skronk" is composed in a good way. I´m also impressed how you pulled of this in two days! That´s being effective!

Well, I've already discussed this song quite a bit with you, so this comment won't be much news... This song has Rumpy written all over it. This irreverent, strange, unexplainable style that has become your trademark, that seems all wrong when seen in a music sheet but ends up sounding right when listened. And there's quite a bit of it here: the rhodes' atmospheric sounds over dissonant riffs, the ceremonial taiko drum interlude, beba's cool slapping, the weird guitar soloing with a slight nod at Dinosaur Jr (am I wrong?), the WTF 7/4 breaks... yeah.

Of course, you already know that I like this, and you also know that despite that, I think you can do better and you have done better. I tried hard to figure out what makes Dawn and Eye better than this, but I ended up getting no conclusion... I guess those were particularly inspired moments for some reason that only you know (if you know at all :P). And what constructive advice can I give you? None. You did what you wanted to with this piece - even when I told you that the chorus was lackluster you replied with a very precise ideia of what it's supposed to be out of GP.

All I can say is solid, enjoyable... but not spectacular.

Skronk - RumpyTheRubbuhChikin

Haven't heard or looked at this in a while, since you first showed it to me. :P

Main Riff is amusing - typical you, right down to the random little clean arpeggio stuck in there.

Verse is the same as the intro, nothing much to say. Now, the Pre-Chorus is interesting. Having what sounds like a music box playing over that style of riffing is... unique, to say the least. And it works, much to my surprise.

Chorus is another typical you riff. Sorry, isn't much more to say in that department.

Interlude is different. Although, like previously mentioned, it breaks the flow a bit. I guess it's alright, but it lacks something that makes it stand out as an Interlude - it's more of a cool-down session that wasn't needed, imo.

Nothing much more of note until the Guitar Solo. Very nice, to put it succinctly. After that, again, I can't really find anything of note to properly comment on. Apart from maybe the last note. :P

So yeah, it's solid, but I agree with JR in the fact that you've done better, and it's not a masterpiece. But, you didn't intend it to be - it's exactly what it wants to be, and that has to be complimented.

3.5 stars.

You know what I think about this one. This is kinda a feature of the things I don't like about yer music. Anyway, the song has some cool moments, like the pre-chorus, the rhodes thing really helped there and the interlude is interesting too. The most brilliant part of this song is the second pre-chorus with that guitar lead, and the solo is cool, as always, but too short. I really like your soloing man, you should give us longest solos =).

Anyway, I guess I couldn't enjoy this song because of the mob-ish/jumpy main riff and the chord progression. But hey, the song ain't bad, the structure is generic but it's a fun short ride. C'mon man, you have way better stuff to show the world =D.

I love you Rumpy <3 ;D. It`s difficult to rate friends. Good song. I wish to hear Rumpy less agressive. 3.0
Knowing down the gutter not helps to rate it higher.
